A man accused of repeatedly molesting a Temecula girl must stand trial for lewd acts on a child and other felonies, a judge has ruled.

Jose B. Fabian, 56, was arrested in April following a Riverside County sheriff’s investigation into alleged instances of the defendant sexually abusing the victim, whose name was not released.

A preliminary hearing was held Friday before Superior Court Judge Stephen Gallon to determine whether Fabian should be tried on two counts of lewd acts on a minor and four counts of oral copulation of a child under 10 years old.

At the conclusion of the hearing, Gallon ruled there was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial and scheduled a post-preliminary hearing arraignment for Aug. 10 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Fabian is being held in lieu of $2 million bail at the Southwest Detention Center.

According to court papers, the alleged sexual abuse occurred between January 2014 and January 2016, then again in April 2017.

The girl revealed what allegedly had been going on to family members, who in turn alerted sheriff’s investigators.

Fabian was arrested without incident on April 28.

He has no prior documented felony convictions.
