Like reality TV, on-the-street interviews by late-night comics are selectively edited. So who knows how many people think North Korea is in Canada or the Mideast? But a resulting 4-minute clip shown Tuesday night by Jimmy Kimmel is certainly a hoot.
“Despite the fact that North Korea dominated headlines late Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel’s amateur polling on Hollywood Boulevard yielded an embarrassing result: The average American has no idea where the Asian country is on a map,” said Rolling Stone.
“I’m horrible at geography,” the first woman said, pointing to Canada.
Our northern neighbors were stunned.
“As a Canadian, I hope Donald at least knows the difference before he starts bombing,” said one on Twitter.
Said another: “ok. people on jimmy kimmel guessing where North Korea is is TERRIFYING. More than one person pointed to canada/greenland.”
Even more amazing? The people shown likely signed model releases.
