In an effort to create excitement, the NFL preseason will include Los Angeles’ two teams going head-to-head in a nationally televised game Aug. 26.
The league released its preseason schedule Monday, with the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers scheduled to meet in Week 3 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The Chargers will open the preseason — their first at StubHub Center in Carson — the week of Aug. 10 with a home game against the Seattle Seahawks. They’ll play the New Orleans Saints at StubHub Center the following week.
After the week-three contest against the Rams, the Chargers will head to San Francisco to wrap up the preseason with a game against the 49ers.
The Rams, meanwhile, will open the preseason at the Coliseum against the Dallas Cowboys, then go on the road in week two for a game against the Oakland Raiders. After the week-three Charger game, the Rams will head to Green Bay, Wisconsin, for a game against the Packers.
With the exception of the Aug. 26 head-to-head matchup, the exact dates and times of the teams’ games have not yet been set.
