The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday to its lowest amount since Feb. 15, decreasing 1.6 cents to $2.851.

The average price has dropped 12 of the past 13 days, decreasing 10.3 cents, including 1.6 cents on Wednesday, the largest daily decrease since Sept. 23. The decreases follow a run of six increases in seven days.

The average price is 8.3 cents less than one week ago, 13.6 cents lower than one month ago and 31.6 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price Thursday dropped to its lowest amount since Feb. 13, decreasing 1.3 cents to $2.82.

The Orange County average price has dropped 14 consecutive days following a seven-day streak of increases. The Orange County average price has dropped 10.5 cents over the past 14 days, including 1.3 cents on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago, 11.8 cents lower than one month ago and 29.6 cents below what it was one year ago.
