The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County recorded its largest daily increase since Aug. 14 Friday, rising 2.1 cents to $2.768.
The increase ends a 13-day streak of decreases totaling 5.2, which dropped the average price to its lowest amount since Feb. 11, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price dropped one-tenth of a cent on both Wednesday and Thursday.
The average price is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago but 9.9 cents less than one month ago and 6.5 cents lower than one year ago.
The Orange County average price also rose by its largest amount since Aug. 14, increasing 2.5 cents to $2.756, after dropping 10 times in 12 days to its lowest amount since Feb. 10. It is 1.9 cents more than one week ago but 7.7 cents less than one month ago and 3.6 cents lower than one year ago.
