Elon Musk, the chairman and CEO of the Hawthorne-based rocket and spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX, was among three additional members of the President’s Strategic and Policy Forum by President- elect Donald J. Trump.

Musk, also chairman and CEO of the electric car manufacturer Tesla, also joined fellow tech leaders in a meeting with Trump Wednesday at Trump Tower in New York City.

Topics included creating more jobs for American workers; eliminating barriers preventing American companies from doing business in other countries; America’s competitive trade dynamic and market access with China; cutting taxes; improving America’s cybersecurity and technology in schools.

The other members of the forum announced Wednesday were Travis Kalanick, CEO and co-founder of Uber Technologies, and Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo. Kalanick was raised in Northridge and attended Granada Hills High School and UCLA.

“America has the most innovative and vibrant companies in the world, and the pioneering CEOs joining this forum today are at the top of their fields,” Trump said.

“My administration is going to work together with the private sector to improve the business climate and make it attractive for firms to create new jobs across the United States from Silicon Valley to the heartland.”

Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Co. was among the initial 16 members of the forum announced Dec. 2.
