Mouse roars again: Disneyland unveils new water-themed hotel
A Disneyland vacation can be a bit pricey for most families, but that doesn’t appear to be slowing growth for America’s original “Happiest Place on Earth” mega-theme park.
Officials Wednesday announced plans for a giant new hotel that is set to open in 2021.
The “Four Diamond” 700-room hotel will be in the west end of Downtown Disney and feature a direct route into the theme park via the Disneyland Monorail.
The hotel, which will have shops and restaurants on the ground level, will feature a variety of water elements, according to the Disneyland Resort announcement.
Construction is expected to begin in the summer of next year.
A check of the website for one of the currently operating hotels at Disneyland — the Disneyland Hotel — shows the facility highlighting prices that “start” at $360 per night, plus tax. There was no word of what rates will be for the new hotel when it opens in 2021.
In addition to the hotel cost, entrance fees to Disneyland itself can cost up to $100 or more for a single day, although discounts for multiple days can bring that cost down considerably.
