Southland gas prices rise to highest amount since September 2015

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Tuesday to its highest amount since Sept. 15, 2015, increasing 1.5 cents to $3.298.

The average price has increased 13 consecutive days, rising 24.1 cents, including 1.4 cents on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 21.8 cents more than one week ago, 21.1 cents higher than one month ago and 39.9 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose Tuesday to its highest amount since Sept. 14, 2015, increasing 1 cent to $3.275. It has risen 14 consecutive days, increasing 25.5 cents, including 1 cent on Monday. It is 22.8 cents more than one week ago, 23.2 cents higher than one month ago and 39.4 cents greater than one year ago.

A statewide 12-cent a gallon gasoline tax increase went into effect Wednesday.
