L.A. Sanitation and Environment’s 5th Annual Earth Day L.A. is being postponed and will be rescheduled for late summer as a coronavirus-related precaution.
“L.A. Sanitation and Environment has made the decision to postpone their 5th Annual Earth Day L.A event that was to be held April 25th at Penmar Park in Venice as a precaution” to help contain COVID-19,” according to a statement.
“The decision to postpone was difficult, but the health and safety of our employee-volunteers, exhibitors and attendees is our primary concern. We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience for you and we hope to have information soon regarding a new date for a similarly themed event in late summer,” said LASAN Executive Director and General Manager Enrique C. Zaldivar.
The forthcoming Earth Day will mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day nationwide, as well as the 5th Earth Day L.A. celebration hosted by LASAN in Los Angeles.
Plans to reschedule an Earth Day-themed event for late summer will be announced once finalized.
