The City of Industry launched a program Wednesday to reimburse businesses up to $5,000 for costs associated with setting up outdoor operations due to the coronavirus.
The Outdoor Business Assistance Grant Program will help businesses offset the costs of equipment purchased or rented after March 1, 2020, including portable canopies, barriers, chairs, tables, umbrellas, hand washing and sanitizing stations.
“The city continues to work hard to support our local businesses that have been deeply affected since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March,” Mayor Cory Moss said. “Our priority is to listen to our business community and help address issues they are facing, because when our businesses thrive, our city thrives.”
The city has set aside $200,000 to fund the program and grants will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis.
