Road work along a one-mile stretch of Ramon Road in Cathedral City is expected to cause traffic delays during daytime hours this week.
Crews will be spreading a new layer of asphalt over existing pavement on Ramon between Landau Boulevard and Date Palm Drive between Monday and Friday.
To accommodate the work, each side of the thoroughfare will drop from three lanes to one during work hours, slated for between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to city spokesman Chris Parman. After 5 p.m. each day, the thoroughfare is expected to fully reopen until the next morning, he said.
Businesses will remain open during the work period, officials said.
Motorists were urged to use Dinah Shore Drive during work hours instead.
