A greater-alarm fire broke out Wednesday in a two-story commercial building in downtown Los Angeles.
The fire was reported about 5:30 p.m. in the 500 block of East Ninth Street, near Wall Street, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was primarily in the building’s second story and attic, and firefighters were conducting a defensive operation to battle the flames, Prange said.
The type of commercial business inside the building was not immediately clear.
