A motorist died Friday when his vehicle careened off the Pomona (60) Freeway in Riverside and landed behind a business.
The crash occurred about 10:20 a.m. on the westbound 60 at Market Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the red sedan veered to the right, across the shoulder and plummeted off the freeway, landing near a business in the 1900 block of Market, the CHP said.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics arrived within a few minutes and pronounced the motorist dead at the scene.
An identification was not immediately made and the circumstances behind the crash were under investigation.
No other vehicles were involved, and freeway lanes were not impacted, according to the CHP.
