The Van Nuys Airport has added 107 new electric vehicle charging stations for use by customers and airport employees, officials said Wednesday.
The charging stations are located at five businesses at the airport, with 41 at Western Jet Aviation, 40 at Clay Lacy Aviation, 16 at Jet Aviation, seven at Signature Flight Support and three at Aeroplex/Aerolease.
“Investments in electric vehicle charging infrastructure and solar powered systems, as well as increased use of sustainable fuel, demonstrate our strong commitment to sustainable airport operations,” Los Angeles World Airports CEO Justin Erbacci said.
“Los Angeles World Airports has a bold agenda to achieve net-zero carbon emission by 2045, and with the installation of more than 100 new electric vehicle chargers, we are demonstrating once again that Van Nuys Airport is on the leading edge of sustainability for general aviation airports,” he added.
Los Angeles World Airports updated its Sustainability Action Plan in 2019 to improve sustainable management of energy, water, air emissions, material and natural resources.
