A woman was struck and killed by a bus on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Calabasas Friday evening.
The woman was driving her SUV on the side of the northbound Ventura Freeway just north of Parkway Calabasas when her vehicle stalled just before 7:40 p.m., KTLA reported.
The woman stepped out of her vehicle and was then struck by the bus, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
All lanes were temporarily closed as authorities investigated the collision, but traffic was moving again by about 8:30 p.m., KTLA reported.
