A motorcycle rider was killed Sunday evening when he crashed into a car on the 15 Freeway in Corona.
The crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. on the northbound 15 south of Ontario Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP the motorcycle rider was getting out of the express lanes and crashed into the rear of a gray Acura sedan, then went down the right hand shoulder embankment.
Firefighters pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene at 8:51 p.m., the CHP said.
The driver of the car was not injured, the CHP said.
Northbound traffic was temporarily stopped in the area while officers checked for dangerous debris in lanes and Caltrans was summoned to repair 40 to 60 feet of guardrail that was protruding into the roadway, the CHP said.
