A person riding a go-cart was struck by an SUV in unincorporated East Hemet this evening and airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
The crash was reported at 5:16 p.m. at Columbia Street and Whittier Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses told the CHP that a Chevrolet Equinox struck the go-cart.
The Riverside County Fire Department confirmed one patient was airlifted to a hospital in serious condition. Officials said another patient was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance with minor injuries.
The department did not immediately release the names or descriptions of the people involved.
