[symple_googlemap title=”Fatal stab” location=”11500 block of Obert, Whittier, CA” height=”300″ zoom=”15″]The coroner has released the name of a woman who was stabbed to death in unincorporated South Whittier.

Michelle Alexis Young, 31, was a Los Angeles resident, said coroner’s Lt. R. Hays.

Vanessa Rebecca Cella, 28, was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Young’s death and booked into the Century Regional Detention Facility where she was held in lieu of $1 million bail, said Deputy Jeffrey A. Gordon of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

Young was attacked about 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 11500 block of Obert Avenue, near Leffingwell Road and the border with La Mirada, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Trina Schrader said.

A witness told deputies she was approached by another woman who started an argument that escalated into a fight, Schrader said.

Cella then allegedly stabbed the victim several times before fleeing, Schrader said. Young was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

Cella was detained a short time later by Norwalk sheriff’s deputies and held at the Norwalk sheriff’s station, Schrader said.
