Two people were kidnapped in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday night.
The victims, who were not identified by age or gender, were taken from near the intersection of East Seventh Street and South San Pedro Street around 8:40 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Nuria Vinegas said.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a late 1980s model white BMW with a red convertible roof and rims, Vinegas said.
Police believe the vehicle was southbound on the San Diego (405) Freeway, bound for San Diego, Vinegas said.
The suspected kidnapper was described as a man in his 20s.
NBC4 reported that the suspect was wearing a red striped sweater.
The station quoted police as saying ransom of $8,000 per person had been sought, and reported that the victims were not children.
