A break in an 18-inch water main caused some flooding in the Hollywood Hills Wednesday, inundating some vehicles in a parking lot.
The problem was reported in the 6400 block of Dix Street around 2 a.m., authorities said.

The break sent water cascading in the neighborhood, and interrupted water service to about 100 Department of Water and Power customers, according to the utility.
A parking lot near a residential building was flooded, damaging some vehicles.
“It’s definitely not the best way to wake up,” a resident told Fox11. “I woke up to a knock at my door, and my roommate telling me ‘hey your car is under water.”‘
A basement also was flooded.
DWP officials estimated that water service would be restored by about 6 p.m., but Dix Street was expected to remain blocked until Thursday morning.
The pipe is almost 90 years old.
