A young man was shot and killed on a street in Inglewood Friday morning, authorities said.

The attack took place near the intersection of 104th Street and England Avenue around 12:50 a.m., said Inglewood Police Lt. Dirk Dewachter.

Jerry Sabillon-Martinez, 18, of Inglewood died at the scene, said L.A. Coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

“The victim was shot on the street in a high-density area,” Dewachter said. “There are a lot of apartments around there.”

It was not immediately clear if the shooting was gang-related, but Dewachter said an investigation was underway.

The motive for the attack was not immediately determined, and no information was immediately available on who did the shooting, Dewachter said.
