Actor Ben Woolf, most recently seen in “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” died at a hospital Monday, four days after he was struck by a vehicle in Hollywood.

Woolf was struck at Hollywood Boulevard and Gramercy Place about 9 p.m. Thursday, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations office.

Woolf was hit in the head by the mirror of the vehicle, Madison said. The motorist stopped at the scene and was not cited or arrested, he said.

“We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all over the world for our beloved Ben,” according to a family statement posted on Woolf’s Facebook page. “He touched so many hearts in his 34 years. His memory will live on within each of us and within his work.”

TMZ.com reported that Woolf died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he had been heavily sedated. The website reported that Woolf, who was 4 feet 4 inches tall, was jaywalking when he was struck in the head by the mirror of a passing SUV.
