A man died Monday of wounds he suffered in a shooting in Pomona.
Officers were sent to the 1200 block of West Third Street about 12:30 a.m. after a woman called 911. The 30-year-old Pomona resident was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple gunshot wound to the upper body, the Pomona Police Department reported.
“The caller said the victim, who was known to her, walked into her residence and subsequently collapsed on the floor,” according to a police statement. “She said he had been shot by an unknown suspect.”
There were no arrests.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
This morning’s shooting was about a mile from where 23-year-old Salome Rodriguez Jr. was fatally shot after a fistfight about 3:30 a.m. Friday near Third and Main streets. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Los Angeles Police Department Officer Henry Solis, who is the suspect in that crime.
