Industry crash

A man and a woman were critically injured in a two-vehicle collision in the city of Industry.

The collision occurred about 9:40 p.m.,Friday, at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Hurley Street, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervising Dispatcher Miguel Ornelas.

“There were two people trapped in the vehicles and firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to cut them out,” Ornelas said. “Both people were transported to trauma centers. One went by air and one by ground ambulance.”

There was no indication drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, sheriff’s Sgt. David Cortinas said.

The collision remained under investigation, Cortinas said.
