A man estimated to be about 30 years old was shot to death in South Los Angeles, a police officer said Sunday.

The shooting happened at Western and Vernon avenues at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, said Officer A. Dellaney of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Southwest Station.

A news videographer at the scene said the shooting occurred in a liquor store doorway.

It was unknown whether the shooting was gang related, Dellaney said. No suspects were in custody. A crime scene investigation continued.
