A 9-month-old girl was found dead in a residence in South Los Angeles and her mother was taken into custody.
Neighbors told Los Angeles Police Department officers who responded to the scene that the woman in her early 20s was in front of her residence screaming that she had killed her baby, LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado said.
Officers were called to the residence, in the 2000 block of West 64th Street, between Western and Van Ness avenues, around 3 p.m., Friday Preciado said.
The dead baby girl was found inside the residence, Preciado said.
The suspect is expected to be booked for murder, Preciado said.
