A 19-year-old man was charged Tuesday with murder and driving under the influence of a drug in connection with a two-vehicle crash in North Hills that left three men dead.

Riley John Holman of Mission Hills is charged with three counts of murder and one count of driving under the influence of a drug causing injury, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Holman, the lone occupant in his vehicle, was driving east on Roscoe Boulevard in a 2004 Jeep Liberty when his vehicle struck a westbound 1993 Toyota Corolla with four occupants, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jim Hahn of the Valley Traffic Division. The crash occurred about 2:50 a.m. Sunday on Roscoe Boulevard at Haskell Avenue.

The Corolla’s driver, Santos Ordonez-Baquiax, 22, of Winnetka, and two of his passengers, Francis Oxlaj-Alvarez, 25, of Canoga Park, and Edgar Ordonez- Baquiax, 20, of Winnetka; were killed in the crash, authorities said. The fourth person in the Toyota was critically injured, according to police.

Holman also was injured in the crash and is being treated for his injuries, authorities said. An arraignment date was not immediately set.
