A woman who was shot in the head during an apparent domestic dispute in Redondo Beach died Thursday at a hospital, and her alleged killer was in custody, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at a residence in the 2500 block of Graham Avenue about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Redondo Beach Police Lt. Joe Hoffman.
Roy Rodriguez Jr., 22, of Redondo Beach was arrested following a half- hour standoff with authorities.
The woman, in her 20s, died at a hospital about 3:30 this morning, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Her name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.

Following his arrest, Rodriguez was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and he was held in lieu of $500,000 bail, Hoffman said. A murder charge is now expected.
Officers were dispatched at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the Graham Avenue home on a report that a woman had been shot by a man inside the residence, according to Hoffman.
Officers arrived at the scene, set up a containment, and the department’s crisis negotiation team spoke to Rodriguez on the phone. He surrendered to police shortly before 2 p.m., Hoffman said.
Paramedics rushed the shooting victim to a hospital. Four other people inside the home, including a small child, escaped injury.
“Although the exact relationship between the suspect and victim is yet to be determined, this is believed to be the result of a domestic incident between known individuals,” Hoffman said.
Rodriguez was expected to appear in court Friday in Torrance, Hoffman said.
