An 18-year-old man was charged Thursday with murdering a woman found shot to death in a car in the Glassell Park area.

Alexis Madera is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 27 in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom in connection with Desiree Ramirez’s killing.

The murder charge includes allegations that Madera personally and intentionally discharged a handgun.

The 31-year-old Los Angeles woman’s body was discovered about 2:40 a.m. Tuesday in a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 3200 block of Isabel Drive. She had been shot in the upper body.

Madera was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Police did not offer a motive for the crime.
