Law enforcement officials Sunday were still trying to figure out what happened in what could be a real-life murder mystery in the high desert.
A man’s body was found in the desert east of Palmdale near Lake Los Angeles, authorities said.
Deputies conducting a search mission found the body about 10:30 a.m. Saturday near 140th Street East and Avenue I, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives were dispatched to investigate the circumstances of the man’s death, and the coroner’s office was summoned to collect the remains and attempt to identify the dead man.
