A tense standoff with police that could have been violent ended peacefully as two suspects were arrested Thursday after a confrontation at a gas station in Huntington Park.

Officers were sent shortly before 1:30 a.m. to Florence and Santa Fe avenues, the Huntington Park Police Department told CBS2.

When the officers reached the Shell gas station, they saw by a pump a van that had been reported stolen. Inside were three people. The female driver of the vehicle reportedly exited without incident, but two male occupants believed to be armed and dangerous remained in the vehicle and refused to leave.

A SWAT team was called to the scene, according to CBS2, and the two suspects were detained shortly after 4:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported.
