Police Wednesday circulated a photo of a woman accused of entering an unoccupied classroom and taking money and a credit card from an elementary school teacher’s purse that she then used to go on a spending spree.
The crime occurred on Oct. 7 between 2:45 and 3:30 p.m. on the campus of Bret Harte Elementary at 3200 Jeffries Ave., said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

“The suspect walked into an unoccupied classroom,” Losacco said. “She stole a credit card and money from a teacher’s purse. The suspect later used the credit card to make purchases at stores in Glendale and Burbank.”
Police released security photos of the woman and a car she may have been driving. She was described as black and about 30-40 years old, and the car was a black Kia or Hyundai four-door sedan with out-of-state license plates.
“The suspect is not a parent of a child who attends Bret Harte, nor did she have any legitimate reason to be on the school campus,” Losacco said.
Anyone with information on the suspect was urged to call Detective Steve Karagiosian at (818) 238-3210.
