A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death on a street in East Los Angeles, a sheriff’s deputy said Saturday.

The stabbing was reported at 11:10 p.m. Friday in the 5000 block of Whittier Boulevard, Los Angeles County Sheriff‘s Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.

Deputies dispatched to the scene regarding a “person down” call found the teenager lying in the street suffering from a stab wound in the upper torso, said Navarro-Suarez.

Paramedics rushed the boy to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives asked anyone with information regarding the stabbing to call them at (323) 890-5500.
