A Taekwondo instructor was sentenced Monday to four years and four months in prison for sex acts with two underage female students.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Bruce Marrs also ordered 50-year-old Marc Scott Gitelman, of Las Vegas, to register as a sex offender for life.
Gitelman was convicted Sept. 8 of one felony count each of unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation with a person under 18 and committing a lewd act on a child.

The crimes occurred in Los Angeles County in May 2010 and September and October of 2011. At the time, Gitelman was a top-ranked Taekwondo instructor who had his own school and also taught at several community centers and the University of Nevada, Deputy District Attorney Kelsey McKeever-Unger said.
Gitelman also traveled with students to tournaments throughout California and Nevada between 2007 and 2013, the prosecutor said.
In an online forum, a woman who identified herself as one of Gitelman’s victims said the coach continued to appear at United State Taekwondo Association events even after his 2013 suspension from the organization.
