Five people were hospitalized Saturday morning with moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash in the Jefferson Park/Adams area of south central Los Angeles.

The crash took place about 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Adams Boulevard and Griffith Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Ernie Berry of Newton Division.

“The crash occurred after one of the drivers ran a red light,” Berry said. “But both drivers are claiming they had a green light so that still has to be sorted out.”

Five people were hospitalized with moderate injuries, he said.

Drugs or alcohol were not factors, he said.

Anyone with information on this collision was asked to call the LAPD’s Newton Division at (323) 846-6547.
