Two people were hospitalized Thursday after being shot in Norwalk by an assailant who remained at large.
Deputies found the victims after responding at 12:12 p.m. to a call of shots fired at the intersection of Allard Street and Arlee Avenue, said Lt. Robin Limon of the sheriff’s Norwalk Station.
Both victims, a male and a female, each between 17 and 25 years old, were hospitalized with serious injuries but were in stable condition, according to the lieutenant.
Neighbors at the scene said a car pulled up to the victims and a man, who appeared to be in his 20s, got out and opened fire before getting back into the vehicle and fleeing the scene in a silver or gray two-door sedan.
The victims were walking along the street and had just rounded a corner when they were shot, sheriff’s Lt. Mark Christiansen told reporters at the scene.
