Five young men were arrested in Beverly Hills on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy after one of them was seen trying to kick in a home’s door.
Officers responded to a burglary-in-progress call about 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of San Ysidro Drive, north of Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said.
A woman working at the home told police she looked out of a second-floor window and saw a man in the backyard trying to kick in a door, Hoshino said.
The suspect saw her and fled, according to Hoshino.
Officers set up a perimeter and began searching for the suspect, who was found nearby but just outside the containment area in a car with four other young men, Hoshino said.
“A subsequent investigation revealed they were involved in criminal activity,” Hoshino said.
All five were booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, he said.
Their names were not immediately released.
