A 17-year-old boy was killed Sunday when his car hit a light pole near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Brendan Leon had been driving a silver 2002 BMW south on West Drive when he lost control of the car about 2:50 a.m. near Seco Street, said Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema.
The teenager was the only person inside the car, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Hettema said.
He was publicly identified at midday by the coroner’s office, Investigator Selena Barros said.
Pasadena police asked anyone with any information regarding the crash to call them at (626) 744-4620.
