Three burglary suspects were arrested Wednesday after a car chase in Garden Grove.

Officers were dispatched shortly after noon to a report of a possible residential burglary in the 9200 block of Weldon Drive, where three men were seen entering a home’s rear yard, according to Garden Grove police Lt. Bob Bogue.

“The suspects were seen carrying items from the home and left in a silver Infiniti sedan just prior to the officers’ arrival,” Bogue said. “Officers located the suspects in the vehicle in the area of Magnolia Street and Garden Grove Boulevard where the suspects refused to yield.

“A pursuit ensued where suspects threw out stolen items from the vehicle.”

The car chase ended in the area of Beach Boulevard south of the Garden Grove (22) Freeway, and although two passengers fled on foot, all three were eventually arrested, Bogue said.

A shotgun, three watches and a guitar were recovered, but two stolen handguns that police say were thrown from the Infiniti’s window remain outstanding, Bogue said.

The suspects, all from Los Angeles, were identified as Resan Bingham Jr. and Michael Chisolm, both 28, and 22-year-old James Daniel Smith.

Chisolm was on parole for a burglary conviction and Smith for a robbery conviction, Bogue said.

All three men were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and felony evading, Bogue said.
