A suspect struck a sheriff’s department vehicle Tuesday, injuring a deputy inside and triggering a manhunt in the Hancock Park area.
The suspect, driving a black Dodge Charger, hit the patrol car about 4:20 p.m. after fleeing from an earlier traffic stop, Deputy Kimberly Alexander said. The driver kept going, but bailed from the vehicle a short time later along Sycamore Avenue.
Deputies set up a perimeter roughly in the area of Beverly Boulevard, South La Brea Avenue and First Street in Hancock Park, Alexander said.
The deputy who was in the sheriff’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, Alexander said.
