A man suspected of stabbing another man barricaded himself inside a South Los Angeles house Wednesday, prompting a SWAT team response.
Police were called at 2:21 p.m. to the 100 block of 109th Place to investigate an assault with a deadly weapon and found the victim, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, according to Officer Aareon Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Media Relations Section.
The suspect refused to come out of a home and a SWAT team was summoned, Jefferson said, adding the man is believed to be alone.
The standoff continued more than four hours after it began.
