Three people were arrested following a burglary Friday at a drug store in La Habra in a pursuit that included suspects crashing a getaway vehicle into a squad car.

About 3:30 a.m., offices were dispatched to Central Drugs, 520 W. La Habra Blvd., when a burglar alarm was activated, according to police.

The first officer on scene saw a suspicious vehicle, which led to a chase, where the suspects crashed into a wall on a dead-end street in the 700 block of W. First Avenue, police said.

The officer stopped his squad car behind the vehicle and was getting ready to exit when the suspect put the car he was driving in reverse and slammed into the police car, police alleged.

A man in his 20s and a woman in her mid-20s were arrested in that incident, police said.

Meanwhile, two other suspects who were caught red-handed in the drug store, ran away from police, authorities said.

That chase led to behind a Northgate Market store nearby, where a man in his early 20s was captured, police said. The other suspect got away, police said.

The names of the suspects were not immediately released.

Anyone with information was asked to call police at (562) 383-4300.
