A 24-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing his mother in her Saugus home was in custody Tuesday.
Jesse Lucatero, who is said by authorities to have mental issues, was taken to the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Station for questioning and later booked, according to sheriff’s Deputy Crystal Hernandez. Bail was set at $2 million, Hernandez said.
The stabbing was reported about 12:50 p.m. Monday in the 19500 block of Castille Lane, according to Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Maria Acevedo, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. She was found by her husband, authorities said.
Deputies had been called to the home before, according to ABC7.
