A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and additional charges by police, who believe he was the triggerman in a car-to-car shooting that wounded an 18-year-old man in Pomona, a police lieutenant said Sunday.

Officers located Daniel Bandera-Huizar at his home, obtained a search warrant to recover what they believe was the weapon used in the shooting as well as a cache of rifles, according Pomona police Lt. Marcus Perez.

The shooting was reported at 5:10 p.m. Saturday in the area of San Antonio and Kingsley avenues, Perez said.

An unknown suspect or suspects “in a gray Impala shot at the victim’s vehicle and struck him in the upper torso,” Perez said. The suspect or suspects fled the scene. The shooting victim was rushed to an area hospital in stable condition.

The motive was not known, he said.
