A 25-year-old man wounded by gang-related gunfire was forced to endure a terror-filled drive for help after he was shot in the parking lot of a liquor store in South Los Angeles, police said Saturday.

The shots rang out at 11:30 p.m. Friday near Century Boulevard and Central Avenue where the victim and a friend were in a vehicle, said Lt. Ben Fernandes of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southeast Station.

The victim was struck in the abdomen and he and his friend fled to get away from the suspects before calling the police from another location. The man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, Fernandes said.

Police are looking for two to three suspects who fled in a gray Dodge Charger, Fernandes said.
