A man was killed and two other people were wounded in a shooting in San Fernando, and police established a perimeter in search of the killer.
The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Harps Avenue, said Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting the San Fernando Police Department in the shooting investigation and suspect search.
The deceased victim was a Hispanic man and the two who were wounded were a man and a woman whose conditions were not available, Navarro-Suarez said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department had reported earlier that two victims were in critical condition when taken to a hospital.
Police set up a perimeter in the area, with a suspect possibly holed up in a home just north of the shooting scene, according to reports from the scene.
Residents were being advised to shelter in place.
San Fernando Police Department Chief Anthony Vairo said it was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
“We do know the victims were targeted,” Vairo said.
