Sheriff’s detectives sought the public’s help in identifying two suspects who used self-checkout at a Palmdale Walmart but paid for only some of their stuff before leaving the store.

The theft occurred about 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the store at 40130 10th St. West, according to Deputy Jodi Wolfe of the sheriff’s Palmdale Station.

The men allegedly entered the store, loaded up a shopping cart with miscellaneous bedding items and proceeded to checkout.

The suspects used the self-checkout register, only paying for half of the items in the cart, Wolfe said Wednesday. The suspects then wheeled the shopping cart out of the store with the unpaid items, she said.

One suspect, seen on camera, was described as a black man in his 20s wearing a gray sweater, a gray beanie and black pants, Wolfe said.

The second suspect was identified as a black woman in her 20s wearing a green jacket with a pink shirt.

Anyone with information on the identity of these suspects were asked to contact Detective Halvorsen at (661) 272-2479.
