The Los Angeles City Council approved a $50,000 reward Wednesday for information that results in the apprehension of the killer of an 18-year-old man out for a nighttime ride with friends in the South Los Angeles area of Vermont Square.
The fatal shooting occurred last Dec. 9 a few minutes past midnight. Christopher Saucedo and some of his friends were driving eastbound on 41st Street near Menlo Avenue when a gunman standing in the street forced the driver to stop and approached the passenger side of the vehicle.
When the driver attempted to drive away, the suspect fired several rounds into the back of the car, striking Saucedo, according to police.
