An Azusa man pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually assaulting a screaming woman at knifepoint in her Glendale home almost two years ago.

The attack was thwarted by the victim’s adult son.

Justin Amador Rios, 20, is facing 24 years to life in state prison when he is sentenced May 16 in connection with his plea to one count of forcible sexual penetration, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Rios also admitted an allegation he used a knife in the attack.

Rios got inside the 38-year-old woman’s home and attacked her, according to Deputy District Attorney Fernanda Barreto.

The woman’s adult son woke up and stopped the attack after she managed to scream for help, the prosecutor said.

Rios escaped, but was later captured, authorities said.

Three other counts against Rios — including two additional sexual assault charges and a burglary charge — are expected to be dismissed when he is sentenced.
