In something of a cautionary tale for parents of young teens, a 26-year-old North Hollywood man will be arraigned Tuesday for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old Fullerton girl he met online.
Vincent John Conti was taken into custody by Fullerton police when he arrived to meet the teenage girl at a prearranged location, according to Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.
The investigation began March 30, Radus said. Police learned that Conti was allegedly soliciting a sexual relationship with the girl through social media and allegedly was conducting a sexual relationship with the girl.
Detectives then arranged to have Conti meet the girl. When he arrived for the meeting Saturday, he was confronted by police and then tried to run from the scene, Radus said. After a short foot pursuit, Conti was captured in a nearby flood control channel.
Conti was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to Orange County jail records. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Central jail court on Tuesday.
Anyone with information on Conti was asked to call Fullerton police Detective L. Garcia at (714) 738-6358 or Sgt. J. Ema at (714) 738-6580. Tipsters can also call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS. All tips can be made anonymously.
